Policies
Lessons are paid for 1 month at a time and in advance. Payment is due at the 1st lesson of each month. A $10 late fee will be added if the bill is not paid at that time. Lessons started in the middle of the month will be prorated up to the beginning of the next month.
In addition to regular lesson costs, there is a $10/month fee to cover gas and travel.
I offer a 30-minute free trial lesson to new students.
After a trial lesson, if you wish to continue with lessons, I ask that the student be committed to lessons for at least a period of six (6) months or longer and that students be committed to practicing consistently (3-5 times a week for 10-30 minutes depending on age and level), as it is essential to a student’s growth as a musician. Participation in recitals (as available) is recommended but not required.
Lessons are given on a weekly basis and the bill will be adjusted based on the number of lessons to be given in that month at the prices listed above. Weeks of major holidays will be discussed prior to invoices being sent. There are no lessons on major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas) and the bill will be adjusted accordingly.
1-week notice is required for changing of regular lesson time, and the requested time slot is not guaranteed.
Notice at the beginning of the month is required to cancel a lesson due to planned travel or vacation time, etc. If a lesson is canceled without proper notice that lesson is forfeit and will not be credited to the next billing cycle.
Lessons canceled because a student is sick/ill will be handled on a case-by-case basis at my discretion. The first lesson canceled due to an illness will be credited to the next month’s billing cycle. Any cancellations after the first for the same illness will not be credited.
There will be no refunds given for missed or canceled lessons. I will try my best to reschedule missed or canceled lessons within that same week, but if rescheduling is not possible then that lesson will be credited to the next billing cycle. This does not include lessons canceled without proper notice, this will be left to my discretion. Lessons will automatically be credited to the next billing cycle if the cancellation was made by me.
If lesson time must be missed (vacation, etc) it is recommended to have no more than 2 weeks of canceled lessons in a row, if possible. This recommendation includes time over the summer.
Hope Gabrielle Piano Studio reserves the right to discontinue lessons with parent/guardian/student. Appropriate notice will be given. (Possible reasons for discontinuation include but are not limited to: frequently missing or canceling lessons without proper notice; consistently paying late; student frequently misbehaving/being disruptive or disrespectful/expressing disinterest in continuing lessons or learning piano)
Parent/Guardian/Student is responsible for the purchase of all required study materials, including (but not limited to) books, a metronome, pencils, binders, sheet protectors, staff paper, etc., unless otherwise stated.
30-day notice is required if the student wishes to discontinue lessons. If a 30-day notice is not provided, payment for the next month’s invoice will be due at the last lesson to be given.
Payment methods accepted: cash or check
